Misty Blues, Been A Long Time Coming feat Eric Gales
Misty Blues, led by lead singer and founding member Gina Coleman, release their new single “Been A Long Time Coming” featuring internationally acclaimed guitarist Eric Gales from their forthcoming album Outside The Lines. Their 12th album is set to drop on March 31, 2023 via Guitar One Record label.
Based in Massachusetts, Misty Blues celebrates over two decades of performing their eclectic blend of original blues with hints of jazz, funk, soul and tent revival gospel. Gina and her band have recorded with Eric Gales, Charles Neville and Joe Louis Walker, and opened for contemporary blues artists Tab Benoit, James Montgomery, John Primer, Roomful Of Blues, Albert Cummings and Michael Powers.

“Been A Long Time Coming” featuring Eric Gales is the band’s second release under the Guitar One Record label and marks their first collaboration with producer Marc Swersky. Co-written by Gina Coleman and Ed Moran, the song speaks to Coleman’s nearly 25 years as a blues artist. Misty Blues performs extensively throughout New England, the continental U.S. and Canada. The band has been nominated for a few Independent Blues Music Awards and became a finalist in the International Blues Challenge in 2019. Their last album, One Louder, was released January 28, 2022.
The band includes Gina Coleman on vocals, Eric Gales on guitar, Seth Fleischmann on guitar, Bill Patriquin on bass and vocals, Benny Kohn on keys, Rob Tatten on drums and vocals, Aaron Dean on saxophone, Diego Mongue on guitar, Ed Moran on vocals, Chantell McFarland on vocals, and Wanda Houston on vocals.
Despite being the primary songwriter, Coleman has always called upon her band members to bring their individual ideas and sounds to the creative process. ‘I write most of our songs,’ explains Gina. ‘I bring the lyrics and a simple musical structure to the band and then the guys add their ideas to bring the song to life’.
In the summer of 1999 Gina Coleman was performing in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of A Raisin In The Sun. That production featured actors Ruben Santiago Hudson, Viola Davis, Kimberly Elise and Gloria Foster. Coleman was cast as a gospel singer. Nearing the end of the show’s run, Ruben Santiago Hudson gave Coleman a cd collection entitled Men Are Like Streetcars. He told her that her voice was well suited for the blues and urged her to take that next musical direction. Coleman heeded his advice, and after 20 years, Misty Blues has stood the test of time.
