Now this is an exciting new band. Listen up as we haven’t heard anything like this New York-based power trio, Charred Funk, and their unique brand of overdriven, hard-hitting instrumental hard rock with a funky vibe. Their music features a Joe Walsh-meets-Eddie Van Halen guitar style with booming bass lines and pounding percussion.
Gritty and rhythmic, Charred Funk puts down music that claims a spot somewhere between Led Zeppelin and Living Colour. “Ironclad Groove” is a slinky, riff-heavy knockout punch featuring scorching guitars and a deep pocket. The band has forged a sound that’s kinetic, compelling, and impossible to forget.
The self-titled EP features five instrumental songs with classic US rock guitar riffs mixed with funky vibes and is released via DeFox Records and Heart of Steel Records.
Guitarist and bandleader Peter Milo, who was part of the New York hard rock scene in the 1980s, has a seasoned approach, inspired by the legendary masters of the genre. His love for Van Halen and Joe Satriani is evident.
This is hard rock with some kind of groove.
The band’s EP, Charred Funk was released May 5th 2020 and the digital album is available on every worldwide webstore including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Google Play, Tidal, Shazam and YouTube.
