Extraordinary blues vocalist Sari Schorr releases a new video for her song ‘Ordinary Life’ written by Sari Schorr, Henning Gehrke, Bill Alexander and filmed and edited by Sari Schorr.
A note from Sari, “Covid-19 changed the world as we know it. These extraordinary times have pushed us far from the normality of our ordinary lives. But the weight of uncertainly has been mixed with an opportunity for introspection and a deeper appreciation for the simple things in life. I hope this video will resonate with you.”
Normality has been put on hold and ordinary life isn’t the same. Sari Schorr’s new video captures haunting glimpses of that. In the months and years to come, this will remind us of these strange, changed days.
The New York blues rock singer/songwriter Sari Schorr was supposed to be playing in London this week as part of her European headline tour. Instead, ground in New York, she’s made this haunting video using her iPhone, showing striking scenes of the city in the social isolation lockdown.
Sari has set the recently shot visuals to her 2016 track ‘Ordinary Life’ and the product is poignant and powerful. It captures a moment in time where ordinary lives have become anything but. Many have learned to be grateful for everyday experiences that we may have taken for granted.
“I was inspired to hopefully portray how extraordinary times reveal the precious gifts of an ordinary life,” Sari explains.
The video is beautiful in the most haunting way because after all, we’re all living this life of lockdown because of COVID-19 even if we aren’t in New York City. Sari Schorr’s voice is so rich with texture and soul. When she sings “I’m grateful for this ordinary life,” you believe her. A nice reminder amidst the challenges we all face right now.
An authentic and honest vocalist, Sari Schorr is operatically trained. In 2016 she released A Force of Nature, produced by Mike Vernon (David Bowie, Eric Clapton, John Mayall) Her sophomore album, Never Say Never, was released in 2018 on Manhaton Records.
