The Vindys Are ‘Electric’ On Their New Single and Video

Dynamic indie rockers The Vindys release their new single/lyric video, “Electric.” Written by The Vindys, the rousing tune opens with a slinky Motown-inspired bass groove and finger snap rhythms leading into the dynamic and sultry vocals of singer Jackie Popovec. Electric guitars quickly ignite this hooky soul-pop gem into an arena-shaking revelry fueled by a powerful yet polished production featuring a tight horn section and vibrant backing vocals, creating an exhilarating atmosphere. Popovec states, “Making Electric was a beast. It’s pure energy from start to finish, and we’re so proud of it!”

A perfect blend of brass and catchy high-energy rock, “Electric” by The Vindys are all toe tapping groove and the crisp, dynamic vocals of lead singer Jackie Popovec. A tight rhythm section springs into action on the first note. This band is fresh!

“Electric” arrives as The Vindys prepare to launch their second consecutive tour alongside Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, beginning April 18 in Tulsa, OK, opening a series of shows spanning 26 cities, including Austin, Memphis, Baltimore, and two dates in Canada. Benatar has praised the Youngstown, OH-based band: “I love them, and I love (frontwoman Jackie Popovec). She’s amazing. That girl can sing her ass off.” The band is thrilled to reunite with the legendary rock duo and showcase their distinctive fusion of rock, soul, and pop grooves to a wider audience and build upon the excitement they continue to generate. The Vindys ‘sizzling performances inspired Washington Post’s Marc Thiessen to rave: “By the end, they were delivering a raucous standing ovation. See. This. Band” – The 10 Best Concerts I Saw in 2024.

Additionally, The Vindys have two special shows along the tour. On April 27, they will perform at Nashville’s legendary 3rd and Lindsley as part of the Sunday Night Series, broadcast live on WRLT-FM—Lightning 100. Then, on May 31, they will play a hometown show at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater, sharing the stage with Lita Ford.

“Electric” follows the release of The Vindys’ 2024 single, “Elton Glasses Baby,” a tune Glide Magazine proclaimed: “straddles the line between infectious pop and big-stage rock…(with) an airy, anthemic sound that is sure to grab the attention of new audiences.” Both songs will be featured on their forthcoming album, Trap Door, due this fall.

The Vindys are led by powerhouse singer/songwriter/guitarist Jackie Popovec, who The Canton Repository declared “uncannily evokes Amy Winehouse on the more retro songs while going full-tilt rock ‘n’ roll on the harder, moodier numbers.” The band’s core line-up features John Anthony on lead guitar and Rick Deak on rhythm guitar. These classically trained musicians create compelling arrangements, with Popovec as the primary songwriter. Adding to the band’s versatile musical palette is the extended band line-up on this tour of Owen Davis on drums, Brendan Burke on bass, and Nathan Anthony on keyboards. Together, this exhilarating ensemble crafts a sound that Music Connection Magazine hails as “rock and roll at its finest.”

The Vindys have undeniably captured a strong and expanding fan base, earning them many critical accolades. Cleveland Magazine named The Vindys their 2023 Editor’s Pick for “Best Indie Rock Band.” Ear to the Ground praised the group as “one of the tightest and most talented acts on the national stage,” calling their recent album, Bugs, a “magnetic force of sonic mastery,” while WKSU (NPR) described it as a “10-track rock ‘n’ roll triumph.”

2025 is an electrifying year as The Vindys prepare to release new music that highlights their evolving sound and creativity. The band is committed to pushing boundaries while staying true to their rock, soul, and pop roots. Their passion for crafting songs fuels their excitement, making this upcoming release not just another milestone but a bold step forward. The next chapter of The Vindys’ story is about to unfold, and it is sure to be their most thrilling yet.
