Sugaray Rayford Unveils New Single Ft. Sam Morrow ‘Stuck Between’

Sugaray Rayford is excited to share his new single, “Stuck Between,” featuring Sam Morrow from his full-length Human Decency, set for release on June 14th via Forty Below Records.

Driven by funky wah wah clavinet and blasting horns, this duet with Sugaray Rayford and Sam Morrow explores the conflicts of man vs machine, man vs. himself and man vs. the environment. “In today’s world, we’re often running in ten different directions and can lose sight of who we are and where we’re going. We know we need to make progress with technology, but we also need to figure out what life is all about,” Eric Corne says about the song.

Sugaray Rayford was nominated for a 2020 Grammy Award for Somebody Save Me and has won five Blues Music Awards for B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Vocalist, Soul Blues Album (In Too Deep), and Soul Blues Artist (two times).

After finding some early success with the award-winning The Mannish Boys, the Tyler, Texas native struck out on his own with Blind Alley. In 2017, The World That We Live In helped Rayford break through to the upper echelon of the blues world while also informing the soul community that he had arrived. Since joining Forty Below Records, Rayford’s sound has continued to evolve in compelling ways.

Sam Morrow
Five albums into an acclaimed career, Sam Morrow has carved out a sound that exists somewhere outside of genre and geography. It’s his own version of modern-day American roots music: a mix of roadhouse rock & roll, bluesy R&B, and country-fried funky-tonk, driven forward by groove, grease, and guitars.

Morrow’s latest effort, On the Ride Here, was released this Spring via Copaco / Blues Elan Records. It’s a sound that owes as much to the road — where Morrow spent most of the past decade on tour, supporting earlier albums like Concrete & Mud and Gettin’ By On Gettin’ Down — as the various places he’s called home. This is music for the fast lane. Music for empty highways. Music for people who, like Morrow, always seem to find themselves in transit.
