Candid Records is proud to announce the Count Basie Orchestra, led by Music Director Scotty Barnhart was bestowed the highest honor in the music industry receiving the Grammy Award for Basie Swings The Blues in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category. he award was given at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

Basie Swings The Blues features captures the raw emotion, infectious rhythm, and profound storytelling that are hallmarks of both jazz and blues, fusing the Basie band’s signature style of sophisticated swing with the raw and soulful talents of a cross section of blues legends and current stars.

Produced by Barnhart along with GRAMMY Award winning producer John Burk (Ray Charles Genius Love Company), and GRAMMY winning drummer/producer Steve Jordan (The Rolling Stones), the album features eight-time Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Inductee Buddy Guy, Grammy Award winning legend Bobby Rush, five-time Grammy Winner Keb’ Mo’, nine-time Blues Music Artist Of The Year Award winner Shemekia Copeland, five-time Grammy Award Winner Robert Cray, Grammy Award winner Charlie Musselwhite, Blues Hall Of Fame member and Kennedy Center Honoree Betty LeVette, Grammy Award winner Ledisi, and ten-time Grammy Award Winner and NEA Jazz Master George Benson.
