Rock Violinist Ginny Luke Delivers New Single ‘Devil At My Heals’ Feat. Orianthi
Ginny Luke delivers the dynamic title track from her highly anticipated album, “Devil At My Heels,” a power-packed, good, old-fashioned headbanger meant to power up anyone in earshot. Released today via KZZ Music/Blue Élan Records, the powerful track is an electrifying duel between Luke and fellow female shredder Orianthi (known for her work with Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper). Luke not only showcases her Zeppelin-esque vocals but also unveils her signature move that has secured her live and recorded performances alongside the legendary Meatloaf, as well as acclaimed artists such as Hozier, AJR and Avril Lavigne: Her Electric Violin.
“The Electric VIolin is the instrument of the album,” says Luke. “It’s synonymous with my voice.”
And her voice is just as impressive. Crediting her work with producers Dave Darling (Glen Campbell, The Temptations) and Zackary Darling (Eric Gales, John 5), Luke tapped into a level of raw vocal performance that feels liberated, raw, full of force and aggression – the kind that’s meant to empower those around her, that’s not going to let anyone or anything stand in her way.

“I wrote this song so I could feel powerful listening to it,” Luke explains. “My whole life, the violin has been a symbol of refinement and beauty and manners – and I just want to defy that a little bit. I love embracing my feminine side, but I also want to embrace my masculine side and produce a loud, gritty, dirty tone.”
And that’s exactly what she’s done here. Taking aim at temptation, at the “sinful, dark enemy elements,” Luke wails with her voice and violin over fuzzed up guitars and the kind of drums that make even your mother’s head bang back and forth. Then all hell breaks loose, as world-renowned thrasher, Orianthi, steps out front with a mind bending solo – before Ginny Luke answers back with one of her own unleashing a torrent of electrifying energy. It’s a raw, high-octane track that’s as empowering as it is exhilarating, set to resonate with anyone ready to forge their own way.
“Ginny is such a badass, and it was so much fun laying down some leads on this track. What an awesome vocalist and violin player,” says Orianthi, who came out to Dave’s Room in Los Angeles to record live with Luke and her band.
Ginny Luke thrives on defying expectations, especially when it comes to her mastery of the violin. Far from adhering to the conventional, polite musician stereotype, Luke boldly forges her own musical identity. While she possesses a deep understanding of the graceful art of violin playing, her style is unequivocally distinctive. This individuality propelled Luke to join rock legend Meat Loaf’s band while still in her teens, opening doors to collaborations with an eclectic range of artists, from Snoop Dogg and Britney Spears to Hozier and Nicki Minaj.
“I just want people to know how fierce they can be,” says Luke,”so I wrote this music to unite people through that energy and resilience. Because I needed music like this to feel my own power and work through my own challenges.”
With “Devil At My Heels,” Ginny Luke has now paid that forward.
