Brighton-based rock band, Bad Luck Friday release “Rebel With A Cause,” the third single from their eponymous debut album, on Wednesday January 18, 2023.
“Rebel With A Cause” is a slamming hard rock protest song that leaves little to the imagination about Bad Luck Friday’s social and political views. It’s an aggressive track meant to incite action. The guitars grind, the lyrics shoot sparks, and frontman Will Wilde wails on harmonica overtop of it all. It’s a righteous anthem for modern times and speaks to those who can’t or won’t make their voices heard. Powerful and relevant, Bad Luck Friday has a clear winner with this exciting song. Vocalist/harp man Will Wilde is a pioneer of the rock harmonica and has a knack for writing songs that combine the DNA of Little Walter, AC/DC, and Whitesnake into something heavy and original. The band came together during the Covid pandemic as a result of Wilde’s drive to remain creative when playing live was impossible. He’s a powerful rock singer in the timeless sense, owning a big, multifaceted vocal instrument that, when mixed with his ripping harp work, produces a performer you just don’t encounter every day.

The band formed during the ashes of the pandemic when live music ground to a halt. Frustrated but still determined and highly creative, Wilde teamed up with guitarist, Steve Brook, and together they journeyed inward and developed their original style before bringing in Alan Taylor and Jack Turnbull to complete the line-up. Their fusion of bluesy classic rock and aggressive, contemporary hard rock encompasses anthemic choruses, catchy riffs, searing vocals, and Wilde’s blistering harmonica solos.
Bad Luck Friday is going to open a lot of doors for themselves with this new single and album. They pack a lot of muscle into the tracks while keeping things accessible for fans of the old and the new.
