“I’m excited to finally bring back Christmas Jam and continue the tradition we’ve been building for over 30 years,” shares Haynes. “It feels like the perfect time to return to celebrating this wonderful cause (and life in general) and to be helping the community in my beloved home of Asheville. Christmas Jam is always such a special event for me and my family and this year’s lineup is one that is dear to my heart as it brings back some old friends as well as introducing news ones into the fold. Looking forward to being together for an amazing night of music and holiday cheer.”
Curated by Grammy Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, producer and guitar legend Warren Haynes, the Christmas Jam is one of the most celebrated and longest-running live concerts in the U.S. Held each year in Asheville, performing artists, volunteers, and friends from all over the country come together to raise funds for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity.
For more than 20 years, proceeds from the Jam have gone towards constructing energy-efficient new homes and helping to pay infrastructure and development costs of entire Habitat neighborhoods. To date, the Jam has raised more than $2.7 million for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, constructing over 40 homes. This year’s Christmas Jam has expanded to also assist BeLoved Asheville. From emergency support for people on the streets and preventing homelessness to rental and ownership units, the Asheville region’s housing needs are greater than ever. Many local agencies work along the housing services spectrum and anchoring the ends of that spectrum are Asheville Area Habitat, providing affordable homeownership and home repairs, and BeLoved Asheville, working with those struggling with housing insecurity. Together, local housing organizations are ensuring more neighbors have a decent place to live.
