A Boston legend, Andrea Gillis releases her third single “I Don’t Need You No More”, the J. Geils cover. Peter Wolf says of her version, “Andrea Gillis takes this Geils’ tune and rocks the house with it in a way that Etta James might’ve done… She kicks it high!”
Gillis lights a new generational fire under “I Don’t Need You No More” and demonstrates her ability to tap into the unique style of The J. Geils Band. The sound is a hard mix of blues, rock, and soul that comes to life once again with her vocal talent and cracking band folded in. This powerhouse vocalist has the lungs of Tina Turner, the songwriting chops of Chrissie Hynde, and the swagger of Mick Jagger. Out on Red on Red, this powerhouse vocalist is already a Boston living legend. She sang the national anthem in Fenway Park, voiced national television commercials and made guest appearances on countless albums. She’s a force of nature and her bands are known for their top-tier players. A South Boston native, Andrea’s humor are as memorable as her voice.

Andrea says, “ I am a HUGE fan of the J. Geils Band. I’ve shared the stage with both the J. Geils Band and Peter Wolf’s solo project over the years. But, to record one of their tunes… can I pull this off?”
You bet she does and Andrea Gillis does so in grand style. The legendary Sir David Minehan is at the board and Ed Valauskas is in the producer’s chair (also playing bass) and mastered by Pat Dicenso. Andrea Gillis Band includes Andrea Gillis (vocals), Melissa Gibbs (guitar, vocals), Ed Valauskas (bass, tambourine, vocals), Mike Oram (guitars), James Rohr (piano, organ), Eric Anderson (drums.)
