The VizzTone label group is proud to release another rocking blues instrumental from the 11 Guys Quartet, “Black Cat Bone.”
All-instrumental house rockers the 11 Guys Quartet start a big-time fire on the group’s new single “Black Cat Bone.” Part of the hoodoo tradition, a black cat bone is meant to be a talisman similar to a mojo hand carried to bring luck and protection to the person wearing it. 11 Guys Quartet conjures up the same kind of mystical magic on this new track and do it in the same ultra-tasty way the group does everything. With a sweet Bo Diddley beat, wailing harp, and pumping guitars, the Guys light this one up like a neon sign.
11 Guys Quartet is a tight, swinging, four-piece crew made up of Richard Rosenblatt on harmonica, Paul Lenart on slide guitar, Bill Mather on bass, and Chuck Purro on drums. They don’t need any vocals to make things happen and their sound is full, inspiring, and jammed with good times. They also make great videos and the one for “Black Cat Bone” is no exception. The highly-entertaining clip adds another tier of fun and frolic to this already-motivating song. Turn it up and get to dancing!

Richard Rosenblatt (Rosy), along with playing some tasty harp on the new single, is also the founder and president of VizzTone Label Group.
Billy, Paul, Chuck and Rosy got together in the early 1980s as the 11th Hour Band – played some great rockin’ blues, hit the Boston area clubs and had some wild times. They released Hot Time In The City Tonight in 1985, the first record on the fledgling Tone-Cool Records imprint, and went on to play together off and on for the next few decades. They all stayed busy with other pursuits, musical and otherwise, but their unique musical chemistry and friendship kept bringing the “11 Guys” back to their original quartet. Around 2008 they decided to go into the studio to record some original instrumentals – straight-ahead, unadorned live takes, mood pieces and variations – no screaming solos, all self-contained, and deliver some flavorful East Coast blues. Outstanding musicianship. Their latest album, Small Grooves and Blues is a 14-song set of highly listenable blues instrumentals.
Once again, the 11 Guys Quartet have added an outrageous, entertaining video to their growing collection.
