After months of rumors, AC/DC announced their reunited lineup on social media Wednesday September 29, 2020 of Angus Young (lead guitar), Brian Johnson (lead vocals) Phil Rudd (drums), Cliff Williams (bass) and Stevie Young (rhythm guitar) with a black and white image of the band and posted “Are You Ready? #PWRUP. No release date for the new project has been provided. The band posted this video clip on their Facebook page leaving fans to hope and guess that PWRUP is a new album.
On Thursday October 1, 2020 AC/DC released “Teaser 1” a 30 second clip from “Shot In The Dark” the band’s first new music released with the recently reunited lineup on their social media for their upcoming project #PWRUP. The 30 second clip features Angus Young and the band performing their characteristic hard rocking riffs, the first music the band has released since Rock Or Bust (2014)

Brian Johnson, who left the band in 2016 due to hearing issues and Phil Rudd who left the band in 2014 due to legal issues are present in the group’s lineup.
In December 2019, former Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider said that the AC/DC new album featured material recorded by the late Malcom Young before his death in 2017. Snider said that Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd would round out the band. He added that Malcom’s nephew Steve Young would be replacing him. “It’s as close as you can get to the original band.”
AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in 1973 by brothers Malcom and Angus Young, and soon after joined by singer Bon Scott, drummer Phil Rudd, bassist Mark Evans (replaced by Cliff Williams 1977.) In 1980 Bon Scott died. Later that year, the band released Back In Black with new lead singer Brian Johnson, the album dedicated to Bon Scott’s memory. Back In Black become one of the best-selling albums of all time.
In 2014, Malcom Young retired due to early onset dementia and died in 2017. Malcom was replaced by his nephew Stevie Young, who debuted on Rock or Bust (2014). In 2016 Brian Johnson had to stop touring because of hearing loss. Long term bass player Cliff Williams retired from AC/DC in 2016 after their Rock or Bust tour. A reunion of the Rock or Bust lineup was announced September 2020.
AC/DC has sold more than 200 million records, making them the tenth highest-selling band in the US and the 14th worldwide. Back IN Black sold 50 million records, making it the third highest selling album of all time.
