Maybe some or many of you know about Philip Sayce, a magnificent blues-rock guitar player. Once again, Spotify suggested I give his new album a listen. Sayce blew my mind with his guitar skills. And he’s a great singer. Check him out and see what you think. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please comment in the comment section below this post.
I’m waiting to do an interview with him before I cover his music but I wanted to share some with you in the mean time.
Born in Wales and raised in Toronto, Canada, Philip Sayce started playing blues jams in Toronto until legendary guitarist, Jeff Healy, discovered this talented player and asked him to join his band. Melissa Etheridge then snapped him up and he played with her band for years. His new album, Scorched Earth, was released September 30, 2016.
His playing style reminds me of Chris Duarte but the second half of that song goes headfirst into Eric Gales style improv. This is the type of Blues I crave ! I’ve been listening to this guy and didn’t know who he was ,this solo album is just the new thing I needed to add to my collection. Thanks for putting him. On my radar.
